At the session on 20 December 2012, Croatian Government passed the new Decision to temporarily facilitate the entry of aliens on entry, stay and transit through the Republic of Croatia on the basis of valid Schengen residence permits and visas in period from 1 January 2013 until accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union.
Therefore, starting from 1 January 2013 aliens who are holders of:
· residence permits issued by one of the Schengen area members
· uniform visas (C) or long-stay visas (D) issued by one of the Schengen area members
temporarily do not require a visa for entering and stay or transit through the territory of the Republic of Croatia.
Above mentioned Schengen documents must be valid at the moment of leaving the Republic of Croatia as well as allow entering the Schengen area.

Croatian Embassy in Stockholm participated on 26 September in the event marking the European Day of Languages 2012 on the premises of the European Commission Representation in Stockholm, together with the embassies and cultural institutes of EU member states. Under the slogan „Croatian language – the next official EU language“, the Embassy staff met with Swedish highschool students, using interactive presentations and promotion materials to introduce the Croatian language as one of Croatia's future contributions to EU's cultural diversity.

Croatian Embassy in Stockholm will again be participating this year in the events marking the Europe Day at Stockholm Central Station on 9 and 10 May, which are organised by the Representation of the European Commission in Stockholm.
The presentation of Croatian Embassy in Stockholm, entitled „Discover Croatia – the 28th EU Member“, will be held from 10.30 to 11 am on 9 May. Participants will be able to participate in the knowledge quiz on Croatia (and obtain some sweet awards), see the film on Croatia, listen to the topical interview with Ambassador Vladimir Matek, and obtain promotional materials on Croatia. Economic forum on Croatia, 4 May
An economic forum on business and investment opportunities in Croatia will be held on Wednesday, 4 May 2011, in the premises of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, in joint organisation of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Croatian Chamber of Economy and Swedish-Croatian Chamber of Commerce, and with support by the Croatian Embassy in Sweden. The forum, entitled „Croatia – Soon to be EUs 28th member“ is designed for both Swedish and Croatian firms interested in gaining a better insight in both countries' market requirements, investment opportunities and cooperation potentials, with special focus on four sectors: tourism, energy, small shipyards and organic food.
In addition to thematic roundtables on these sectors, the programme (available at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce website http://www.chamber.se/?id=7891&eId=9439) will include the presentations on exporting possibilities in Sweden; trends and investment opportunities in Croatia and Sweden; experience of Swedish companies in making business with Croatia; as well as individual meetings and discussions between potential business partners from both countries.

Croatian Embassy in Stockholm will participate on Friday, 12 November 2010, in the „Your Europe“ event at Stockholm's Central Station, organised by the Representation of the European Commission in Sweden.
The event's aim is to make the Swedish citizens more familiar with EU enlargement process, enabling them to learn more about EU candidate and potential candidate countries. Under the slogan „Get to know EU's 28th member state“, Croatia will be in the spotlight at 9 - 9.30, 11 - 11.30 and 16 - 16.30. All interested visitors will have the opportunity to see the movie on Croatia, find out more about Croatia's accession to the EU from an interview with the Croatian Ambassador to Sweden Vladimir Matek, get information and promotion material (including some popular souvenirs), win sweet awards in the special quiz about Croatia, and, of course, get answers to any questions about the country.

Croatia was one of the eight countries contributing to the Europe Day celebration at the Stockholm Central Station, which was organised by the Representation of the European Commission in Stockholm and the European Parliament Information Office in Sweden.
Croatian presentation included a quiz entitled „Discover Croatia: the 28th EU member!“ and featuring of a special movie about Croatia. Various promotional materials were distributed to interested visitors. Special contribution to Croatia's presentation was made by the girls in national costumes and musicians from HKD "Dr. Ivan Mertz", which performed a small concert of traditional Dalmatian music.

Luka Bebic attends meeting of EU Parliament Speakers in Stockholm
Croatian Parliament President Luka Bebic said on Saturday that the debate at the meeting of parliament speakers from EU countries in Stockholm was of interest to Croatia because its parliament was now aligning Croatian legislation to that of the EU and was making necessary preparations to ensure the proper functioning of Croatia as soon as it joined the EU.

Croatia and Slovenia sign arbitration agreement STOCKHOLM, Nov 4 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor and her Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor signed an agreement in Stockholm on Wednesday referring a border dispute between their countries to an international arbitration tribunal.
The Swedish Prime Minister and president of the European Council, Fredrik Reinfeldt, signed the agreement as a witness.

Swedish EU Presidency's letter to Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor
